If you're referring to the c-d forum, they have removed relatively benign comments of mine many times. Anything a moderator on there disagrees with they'll remove, and you're not allowed to say anything about it.
That may well be true, but Trump wasn't in office and Putin moved in...You seem to misunderstand the threat of another Soviet Union...
I think Russia would be a better ally for us than Ukraine—far better an ally than an enemy. Ukraine's only use to us has been to enrich the Biden family, and we've apparently repaid them for that with tax money.
No doubt you are aware Putin (ex-KGB) wants to reestablish the former Soviet Union. Does that concern you at all? Are you familiar with what it was like in the former USSR?
That is true..so what are you saying? Do you think we should stay out of it if Russia decides to reconstitute the USSR?
Nope. The "c-d forum" isn't ringing any bells with anything I've run across. I'm referring to AR15.com which is primarily a gun forum but has a ton of different forums in it, including one for each state. Moderators take a light hand, so there can be some crudeness and immaturity (nude images are not tolerated.) You just gotta steer around it.
IF - then yes. Stay out of it. And stop giving billions of our tax dollars to other countries to make wars.
There are ways to get involved before a war starts. That's what Trump would have done. I don't believe the United States should become an isolationist country because what occurs elsewhere certainly can affect us. Still, I don't think we should be involved in someone else's wars unless we are obligated to do so by treaty, and I don't think we should make one-sided alliances. An alliance that doesn't benefit us is a welfare case, and we can't afford any more of those. I do believe that Russia could become a valuable ally if our politicians and deep state would allow it. That doesn't mean that we should naively trust them to have our best interests at heart. Russia will have its own best interests at heart, and we should do the same. However, there are many areas in which our interests are likely to coincide, such as trade and keeping other rogue governments, like North Korea and Iran, under control. Having Russia as our enemy does not benefit us, but there are advantages to having Russia as an ally.
Russia may need an ally against China should China decide to take the eastern part of Russia. There is a somewhat uneasy alliance between Russia and China brought about by Biden's sanctions against Russia. I think the "Putin is reconstituting the USSR" is U.S. and NATO propaganda to gin up support for bankrupting the West to "save Ukraine". There are many in the military establishment who fear that Ukraine will eventually rejoin the Russian Federation and take our technology with it. I don't know if there is any real risk in that, but that is one of the reasons we don't give them F-22 aircraft, our REAL secret aircraft. Russia originally invaded Ukraine to take the eastern part, as that is where the Russian-speakers are and where much of the industry is located. Russia had an agreement with Bush 41 that NATO would not advance eastward as that would put U.S. and NATO weapons on Russia's doorstep. Bill Clinton immediately changed NATO from defense to offense when he went into Yugoslavia. Having NATO in Ukraine would be like having the Russian Federation in Canada or Mexico. We wouldn't like that and neither does Russia. Russia won't try to reconstitute the USSR unless the U.S. and NATO force it to do so. They wouldn't have allied with China either but were forced to do so. Trump knows that and he was aware of that when he was in the White House the first time. Trump will likely get out of Ukraine if he is elected, but not so with Iran as he has a special place in his heart for Israel and will likely go to nuclear war to save the Jewish nation.
I think Russia was backed into a corner by NATO expansion. Much was triggered by a need for a defensible border, and much by a declining population which will make any push impossible if not tried now.

https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2024-10-03/election-donald-trump-kamala-harris Donald Trump is a pathological liar, and he lies to divide Americans. He should not be president again.
Putin is supporting Donald Trump because he knows that Donald Trump will do major damage to the United States. Putin sees the United States as an "enemy" and seeks to weaken it. Conservatives used to understand that Russia & the USSR were not our friends. Indeed in the past, just about every well-informed American understood that Russia & the USSR were not our friends.
Putin probably sees the creep of liberal globalism as a direct threat. Very similar to what the USSR (and we) faced in WW II.
