One of the things that they are starting to treat people with , is nicotine patches, and it is possible that it could help your friend with the Bell’s palsy, @Joy Martin . Here is what I read about using the patches (or even a nicotine gum or lozenge ) to help heal her body. It helps with both Parkinson’s and alzheimers , so it might help with the palsy, too. Since nicotine itself is a nootropic, and is not what causes cancer from smoking (it is the cigarette that causes cancer), using it in a pure form might be worth trying, and can be purchased OTC.

    (Quoted from Grok)
There's limited direct research linking nicotine specifically to the treatment or improvement of Bell’s palsy, but some indirect considerations can be made based on nicotine's effects:
    Potential Mechanisms:
    1. Neuroprotection and Nerve Regeneration:
    - Nicotine might play a role in nerve health due to its interaction with nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), which are involved in various neuronal processes. While this interaction is primarily studied in the context of conditions like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, the general neuroprotective effects could theoretically apply to nerve recovery in conditions like Bell’s palsy.

    2. Anti-inflammatory Effects:
    - The anti-inflammatory properties of nicotine, through the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, could potentially reduce inflammation around the facial nerve, which is implicated in Bell’s palsy. Reducing inflammation might facilitate nerve recovery.

    3. Vasodilation and Circulation:
    - Nicotine can cause vasoconstriction at higher doses, but at lower or moderate doses, some studies suggest it might improve circulation through other mechanisms. Enhanced blood flow could theoretically aid in healing processes, although this is speculative in the context of Bell’s palsy.

I know a guy who's in his 50s and contracted Bell's Palsy. I read that both the vax and the virus can cause it, but the way things are these days, I would not be surprised if claiming the virus can cause it is merely a smoke screen for the vax side-effects.

What other possible causes were ruled out as not causing the condition?

    Asking for a friend.
