There was talk about a seniors only softball team but it never happened. That would have been fun. Although so many' like me' haven't gotten ready to run. I'm sure there would have been many pulled muscles or worse. You don't just get invited to join a ball team at 50 without preparations, like running and throwing. I pulled a thigh muscle first thing, so Jake and others had to run to first base for me. It healed after a while, I knew better, but didn't have time since the league already started. Grandkids were here [spending summer with us] and kept screaming go Nana go, Pitchersaid, here comes granny up to bat so you boys back up. Male pitcher smiled and said sarcastically,' let me backup, I linedrived his smart ass it landed in the outfield. ', teammate said 'what's wrong, you can't get granny out?I was in good shape just not for running yet. Those were the days, guess what?
Beth, learning more about you, we had lots of things in common like music, sports when younger, we may have been good buddies. Jake said, ' or competitors.
Marie had her own team in Ga., and there were a couple girls on her team; I was coaching for her, who played, and threw the ball like a man.
I love gardening ,but unfortunately I am unable to do it now due to having Osteoporosis and needing hip and knee replacements, I also loved walking a lot, but now cannot walk very far at all.
Some here have aerogardens. I have planters in my south bay window and actually grew tomatoes (and aphids) with greens. I have all sorts of body complaints but sometimes I manage. Take a LOT of vitamin D3 and K2. I think it helps. But I do sit too much. Hey @Lynda Bennett !!! Have we met?
Hi Lynda, gardening is nice especially when your plants turn out right and produce fruit for you. So sorry about Osteoporosis, hip, and knee problems, as we age it's always something to challenge us, it seems. Glad you here and look forward to more post from you.
Hi Mary Stetler, no we haven"t met. I do a lot of pot plants, and my husband is good when I need to do anything where I have to bend. D3 and K2 very good, for bones and also prunes if you like them as they have Boron in them which is very good for bones as well,I used to take a supplement that was called Pain Away but the Australian Theraputic Goods Administration took them off the Market. They probably helped too many people.
