My neighbor just dropped off enough food for 2 meals: turkey, roast beef, ham, sides, desserts. I am so spoiled.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL HOPEFULLY THE TURKEY WON'T BE THE ONLY THING STUFFED, ENJOY THE FOOD, AND FAMILY, BE AT PEACE, JUST HAVE FUN. TONY
I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving, even if it's just relaxing and reminiscing. Thanksgiving always takes me back through the years to my mama busy in the kitchen and the wonderful smells permeating the house, and all the long-lost family members together again. They are gone but never forgotten.
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone ! It is cold and north wind here today, so a good day to just stay inside and have turkey dinner.
I have to run over to the barn to bring warm water a few times even today as there is no electricity there and it is freezing. Every year, I wonder if I will do dinner again. I love to do it but wonder if I will still have the strength. I do this year! We have a tradition of lighting a candle for those not in attendance. Will be thankful for you guys when I light it today.
I remember having to break ice from the horse trough when I lived out west in Idaho and Washington. Having the ice melter helped a lot when I was able to have a long enough electrical cord to reach the horse trough, but otherwise, it was either the axe or the sledgehammer to break it every day, several times, so all the critters could drink, or carry boiling water in a bucket out from the house to the horse trough, or both.
