I think they may have been the same storms? I live in Illinois. Our storms came straight across from Missouri.

I was wondering if you have a basement or storm cellar.

Do you have a storm shelter near you?

No, we do not have either. The only place we would have to go would be the bedroom closet that has no outside windows. So far, we have not ever had a tornado close to us in this house.

Holy Cow!! As @John Brunner posted elsewhere, it appears there will be a bad winter storm--one forecaster said the worst winter storm in 50 years--headed through the central part of the U.S (north-south center). One guy was predicting 8 inches for D.C. and up to a foot of snow for the suburbs to the south. Philadelphia to get 5-8 inches. It will be followed by another storm starting in Texas and covering the south, then swinging to the northeast. If any of this comes true, I will be thinking of you all in those areas not used to snow, cold and freezing rain and ice.

I think all of the UK has been covered by snow and it snowed in the desert of Morocco yesterday. I think even Saudi Arabia saw some snow. Areas of Japan got snow not seen since before WWII, and I think I saw that same of the volcano tops in northern Indonesia even had a few flakes. I guess it wasn't the best time for Europe to stop getting Russian natural gas. I think I saw heavy snow predicted for Switzerland with an increased risk of avalanches too.
