This was on the news on Twitter right after it happened, with videos from people who were driving down the highway when it happened right in front of them. Picture of the plane bursting into flames and people running, trying to get away from the fire. I listened to the audio of the call to the airport, and they said it was cleared for them to land, but he said they were not going to make it to the runway, and they had lost both engines. It is apparently a rental jet. Have you heard anything about who was on board the plane when it crashed or whey they lost both engines at once , @Marie Mallery ?
No but I kep looking for update on the passengers who survived. Seems some airplane mechanics are not so good anymore. Even big jets windows flying open in mid-flight or doors coming off. I'll put up survivors soon as I find news on it.

Naples is a high-income region with a bunch of retirees, isn't it? Without me watching the vids, can you tell me who was on the plane and who survived? Was it a family, or a business outing, or what? Wasn't there one recently involving the family of some Florida used car magnate that crashed en route to Long Island? I think a woman, her child and her mother?

Aah Biden and Obama say any one can fly a plane or helicopter. No problem. Ramp to cockpit is the way to go.
Like everything else, standards have dropped. The British and Germans used to be known for the quality of their goods. I don't if it's because labour was farmed out to other countries, but people seem to have a very lax attitude to everything these days. Where people's safety is concerned, no corners should be cut.
