The championship game for the Little League Baseball World Series is today at 3PM U.S. EST, airing on ABC. The series is being played in Williamsport, PA. I've been catching a game here & there as the kids wend their way though the bracket. It's very impressive, and they look like they're having a good time. The most impressive part is when they interview some of these kids, and they have all the on-camera poise of major league players. It's also enjoyable to see boys at this age from all over the world having fun with each other. This year's final game is between the Caribbean Region (CuraƧao with a 6-0 tournament record) and the U.S. West Region (Southern California with a 3-0 tournament record.)
I've always liked that. In the 80s, our town went reasonably far. We had one kid who was just huge for his age. Top pitcher and top hitter also. If folks remember NY Yankee Elliot Maddox, he was from our town.
