I just realized that the forum's About page didn't transfer over when I changed hosting companies a couple of years ago. Usually, an About page on a website is a description of what the site is all about. I could write up the text for another About page without much difficulty, and probably will, but what I'd rather do is to ask those of you who are at the Veteran Member level to write a paragraph or two about what this forum is about, describing the forum however you like. I will consider submissions from those who haven't reached the Veteran Member level too, but I will publish every submission that is received from someone who is a Veteran Member, even if you hate the forum and want to warn everyone away. I may correct the spelling and grammar if necessary, but I will otherwise include it as written. I would very much like to be able to include your forum name as well but if you would really rather it be anonymous, let me know. Please send them to me in Conversation, and not in this thread, however, because I want them to appear only on the About page, as there's no point in having duplicate content.
Here are our Veteran members, just so you get an alert, if or when you log in. I apologize if I have missed anyone. Oh, if you have not reached the Veteran Member level yet, you can send one to me whenever you do, and I'll add it - or now, and I might add it. @Holly Saunders @Steve North @Louise Williams @Chrissy Cross @Shirley Martin @Kate Ellery @Paul Sparky @Patsy Faye @Joe Riley @Babs Hunt @Yvonne Smith @Frank Sanoica @Cody Fousnaugh @Terry Page @Martin Alonzo @Bobby Cole @Von Jones -- Again, I apologize if I have missed anyone. It was unintentional, and your submissions are welcomed, whether your member name is listed here or not. Yes, I know that some of these people haven't been logging in and haven't posted lately. That's fine. I have included them if they are at the Veteran member level.
@Ken Anderson All these ladies served in the military? Just living up to a remark you made about me long ago; I've been remiss in upholding my reputation! Frank
Just so you don't forget about this, I would really like to be able to include your comments on the forum. You can write it pretty much however you want, but what I'm looking for is a paragraph or two that defines the Seniors Only Club forum from your perspective, whether it's a positive perspective or a negative one, and I mean that. I'll put the page up when I get a few of them, but others can be added as they come in.
Okay, I sent in mine. I can’t find where you said how long or short it was supposed to be, so if mine is a novel, please feel free to print the Reader’s Digest Condensed Version. Edit to add: Oh, yeah, I found it now, and I am definitely WAY out of the 1-2 paragraphs limit; so you will have to get out the scissors and cut out some of what I sent. Good thing that you are an editor !
No, I like it the way it is, Yvonne. I love it. I just didn't want people to think that I was expecting them to write a book. Probably tomorrow, I'll be setting it up with what I have now, but don't forget that I can other ones as they come in.
I almost forgot this. I just put the page in. -- About Us. It's linked from the Help section for now. I may move it up to the bottom of each page, along with Home, Contact Us, Terms and Rules, and Privacy Policy. Anyone else who would like to send me your opinions of the forum, good or bad, please do so - not in this thread, but by private conversation. I would love to include your reviews. You don't have to be a Veteran Member. If you want to write something up and send it to me, please do.
Why wouldn't someone be nice? How many characters are you looking for and I'll write one up for you tomorrow. I love this forum.
