Our dog Radar is 11 years old. We have had him for 7 years. He is Chiweenie dog. He has always shown allergy like issues. One being his licking of his feet and scratching.
He is prone to eat infections. Other than that he has been healthy and rarley sees a vet.
    He sheds horribly also.
Had him vets office back in Oct. ear infevtion and scratching.
Did all the medicine things..the wash But now he has licked his paws to point of no hair a most bleeding.
Will call Monday for vet appt.
My question is have any of you had a pet with these issues? What food can I put him on that might help. His teeth are so tiny that Rachel Raues Little Bites is what he's been on for several years.
He is going nuts and so am I !
    :(

Here is a video from Dr. Mercola about dogs with itchy feet. I have seen some other videos that recommend a diluted vinegar soak to get rid of the yeast infection.

A neighbor a while back who used to work on some mutual jobs with me,
had a dog that had a large spot chewed or scratched down to raw red skin ....
I gave him a cup of coconut oil (without knowing why the dog bit and scratched)....

He rubbed it on the dog ....

    Immediate relief. (as expected)

    Continued relief. (as expected)

I don't remember after that - but coconut oil, natural, untainted , mild (like from wally's world), so far has always worked.... In the Country of India, 20 some years ago, they had medical and scientific websites showing how coconut oil works. You may not hear much about it in some countries though - it would cost billions of dollars loss in profits to drug makers if it was accepted officially in the usa.

    caveat emptor? or standard warning:
use a little at first, in case of allergy or symptoms similar to allergy. (sometimes detoxing or eliminating pathogens including candida on the skin can cause bubbling like hydrogen peroxide, or red dots, or other appearances from the sheer number of dead infectious cells or organisms)

i.e. find someone who knows , outside the ama, for info on transient effects...
