Bobby and I were just talking about our experience at the polls today. We went around 10AM, hoping to get there after the early before-work crowds (which we were hearing about on the radio this morning), and before the ones who rushed out to vote over their lunch hour. Probably, because of this, most of the people we saw at the church where our precinct voted, were older people like us. There were some who were probably in their 40's, but none that we saw who would have been in their 20's or thereabouts. I wondered what age groups everyone else saw when they were voting , and especially whether you saw the millennial age group ? It seems like what we have been hearing was that most of these younger people were backing Bernie Sanders at first, and by default, many of them followed Bernie over to back Hillary when Bernie announced his support for her. Of course, some of them would have gone over to Donald Trump, but the majority probably went Democrat in their choice. Here is what I am thinking might have happened. Since we have been being told for the last few months that Hillary was clearly ahead, and the likely winner, maybe the millenials thought they didn't need to vote because Hillary was ahead and would win in a landslide. On the other hand, most of the Trump followers have been told that it would be close, and every vote counted, so we all tried to get out there and do our part. Everyone who voted early or absentee probably didn't get to see what the crowds of voters were comprised of, but if you voted today, what age groups did you see at the polls ?
