Well, today the Trudeau government with encouragement from Washington has basically declared martial law throughout Canada. This emergency powers declaration has not been used before. Its predecessor has only been used during WWI, WWII, and the Quebecois independence movements of the 1970s. Nobody seems to know how Trudeau will use this power yet, but anything is on the table even including drafting citizens into the military. Who knows....

U.S. bombers are moving toward the Ukraine area for unknown purposes. Biden has threatened nuclear war on Russia, so this could be a step in that direction. Planeload after planeload of U.S. arms have been landing in Ukraine and that nation has apparently declared Wednesday (the day Biden says Russia will invade) to be a national holiday and all businesses there will shut down. We saw what the Afghan military did with U.S. arms, so this may just be a way for Biden to arm the Russians with some of our high-tech weapons...who knows?

There was also an emergency meeting of the Federal Reserve Board this morning (Monday) and there has been no announcements yet as to what transpired. It probably was something to do with dealing with inflation, but in reality they are powerless to do anything. If the interest rate is raised, it will put the U.S. debt into a possible default, especially if Russia shuts off gas, oil, and wheat shipments to the West. If we default, the world economy will collapse and our retirements accounts and savings accounts will suddenly be worth nothing as the world descends into chaos.

Of course, it is possible that none of this will happen, but it seems that it is likely that SOMETHING will happen, as now the leaks from John Durham investigations give the administration yet another disaster to deal with, control, and more information that must be suppressed and twisted to distract the American public from what is going on.

So, whilst all of that is going on we have China and Russian leaders kicking back knowing that all it takes to totally cripple the entire western world is a few key strokes crippling infrastructures and the ability to react to any other threats.

What I do not understand is how humans throughout the world are allowing frivolous and power seeking leaders with a propensity to fertilize the earth with human blood, to exist.

Most likely, Bobby, there are those that simply don't want to get involved, because, if they do, they could be threatened for doing so. Many people just like an easy going, quiet life, not the other.

Right. And I do imagine that the Jews reminisced about their easy going, quiet life as they were being loaded onto boxcars.

There are indeed many folks out there just like you who find that going with the flow and following whomever declares themselves to be the boss to wherever and for whatever reason they have just so they will avoid conflict.
Thousands of slaves throughout the world have lived quiet and easy going lives just as long as they did and do what they are told to do.

Notably, it’s not a slam to say that you’re a follower for indeed you have declared as much many times.
As for me, I find it impossible to follow anyone who believes that their life is worth more than mine.

Also notably, very few have entered into the realm of leadership by wishing to do what the people they pretend to represent want and need. They enter into that world in order to get what they personally want. It’s self achievement and not the advancement of humanity.

Putin said earlier today that he was pulling back a number of troops from the border ...... If we can believe him ?

I think many people today [in the U.S.] just simply do not care. They are so caught-up in their own existence that they are just unaware . I have friends that just refuse to listen to / watch the news ! I realize that it is for the most-part not good but ... isn't that the Ostrich approach ?

Feigning or deliberate ignorance makes for a lot of enslaved or dead people.

Truth is people don't watch/listen to the new because it's always bad or they just don't care.

Here are the provisions under an emergencies martial law that Trudeau wants to invoke.
    ______________________

A public order emergency in particular grants five kinds of powers to the federal cabinet:

the ability to “regulate or prohibit public assembly that may reasonably be expected to lead to a breach of the peace, travel, or the use of property”

the ability to “designate and secure protected places”

the ability to “assume the control, restoration and maintenance of public utilities and services”

the ability to “authorize or direct the provision of essential services and the provision of reasonable compensation”
    ________________________

Now, I’m waiting to see how Canadians will react. Will they revolt or allow the government to do much the same as the Australian government has done?

Well, Bobby, I've gotten into trouble on this forum numerous times for complaining about "this, that or the other". However, wife and I will agree on complaining about different things and we have also complained to our apt. complex manager about some things. Unfortunately, we have found out that there are other residents that have complained about some things here and nothing has been done about the complaints. What we have heard our manager say to us, "I'm getting tired of babysitting these kids that live here", but.

Anyway, back to the thread. Sorry for wavering away from it, but, more times that not, complaining just doesn't work. Bobby, just how much complaining was done about America's involvement in Vietnam, but we continued to be there for 10 years, until we had to pull out.

But ... what if no one complained 250 years ago ? Where would we be now ?

True, but I think that people in today's society have to face the consequences of complaining, unlike years ago. But, don't get me wrong, complaining can be/is a good thing, it can just depend on "who" is listening and "what" is being complained about.

People who complained about King George III were hung and shot but still the one’s who wanted freedom from tyranny won out.
Did you know that the majority of those who signed the Declaration of Independence AND those who signed our Constitution were either killed or were financially wiped out?

Yes, very interesting. I hope Trudeau ends up destroying himself.

In my most humble opinion which is probably incorrect, Canada really doesn’t need a Prime Minister more than it needs good Governors for each Province who will stand up to stupidity.

Both Russia and China have their fingers poised above the keyboards ready to shut down our entire infrastructure should we do something that really obstructs their plans.
