Also, from what I read this morning, part of that same reconciliation bill isn’t just an initiative for those black people whose lineage goes back to being enslaved but also for those illegals who were separated from their parents whilst crossing the southern border.

Now when questioned, Biden said “that ain’t gonna happen” but obviously he hasn’t read the bill because the DOJ is saying it’s in the bill.
Just a note: It’s funny that they named it the Byrd Rule since he was Joe’s friend and a major player with the KKK.

To me, the whole shmeer stinks. It’s another one of those, “we have to pass it before we can read it” things that Pelosi and Schumer dearly love.

Bobby, it sounds like you might be thinking about HR 40, which is a bill to create a 13-member commission that would study the effects of slavery and racial discrimination. The 1.7 T reconciliation bill of this thread is HR 5376.

Some on the internet are calling HR 40 the "truth and reconciliation act," because a commission with a similar name was created within the Justice department in South Africa in 1995.

I haven't read the HR 5376 either, so I could be wrong. Generally the only things allowed in a reconciliation bill are those that would substantially affect the budget. The Senate Parliamentarian has to rule whether it passes that requirement or not. I doubt just creating a commission to study something would, but what do I know.

Uh huh, it would seem that you’re probably right.
I’m actually looking at two pieces of legislation with one being held more or less hostage whilst the other has little to do with the other but still bundled together by the media.
To me, in some ways, it’s permitted to be even more confusing by Congress itself by not allowing the public to view (in full) what is being proposed.

Well I know, and at least 2 other people "here" on the forum know so that makes enough to be called "all" I figure :)

They passed it @Bobby Cole with the help of 13 Republicans that might be a bit richer financially than they were a few hours ago ;( Just heard it when I turned on my Youtube, just when you think you've seen the worst there's still more to come ;( I hope I'm not mixed up but this is the one Pelosi said something like, you'll have to pass it to find out what's in it. God help America ;(

Well, the one Pelosi said had to be passed before we find out what’s in it was the initial Obama care bill.

And yeah, I heard earlier that they passed it and yeah, those Rhinos will get their just rewards one way or the other.
Milk goes sour once it is exposed to the elements for too long and so do back pockets when they’re exposed to the public.

Yeah, it's pretty confusing for me because I don't understand a lot about how "it works", but the one that passed then is the "supposedly" infrastructure bill that we had to pass to get a look at, the 1700 page one mentioned by you guys on this thread?
