I think that I joined this group before and then forgot about it, and just joined it again . Basically, it is a facebook group local to wherever you live where you can give away anything that you no longer need, and some one who needs something can ask if anyone has one to give away. If you have facebook, just do a search in the Groups section, and it should show a group nearest to where you live. We have an old Canon WF7510 that my daughter had given us several years ago, and Bobby wanted a newer, smaller one; so when he found a good deal on amazon, he bought himself a new one. I took a picture of the old one and listed it on the buy nothing group, and the happy new owner is on the way to get it as I am typing this. I was hugely surprised when I was looking for information about the old Canon printer, and discovered that there is one on eBay for $395 , even this old. It must have been really expensive when my daughter bought it.
