I remember Brooke Shields and "nothing comes between me and my Calvins." Nothing like this, however...

I'm really quite tired of obesity being celebrated in this country. "Body shaming" is the new racism apparently.

I'm okay with that. Fat is easier than dieting.

Yeah, because those pics make me want to buy the product. Not.

I've heard guys talk of working at Abercrombie stores during college.
-The good looking ones worked the front of the store.
-Those who were relegated to the stockroom got shamed.

I wonder if the in-store experience has changed to accommodate the new attitude.

I just prefer to see people in ads that look better than me. Then I can dream that if I buy the stuff I can look "like her."

The whole thing is to provoke. When it comes to selling products, there is no such thing as bad press because you get people talking about your product. The seed is planted. Emotions shall be evoked whenever you encounter the brand.

I was reading the "tweetstorm" (man, I loathe our culture) over this and was gonna post some of it here, but why feed the beast? And it's all the same predictable pablum.

The point is that the ads sell to the people who will buy. Apparently the buying population is that size. I am far from svelt, but I worry about this movement. I think Ken is right. If you are morbidly obese, I think you will need the shots to protect you.
I was thinking recently about Alfred Hitchcock's girth. They run reruns on Roku. He was considered huge. Now he just looks like a guy.

The trolls who get post negatively about this didn't look like the models 30 years ago either.

I wonder how many generations it will be before this is considered to be "normal" and kids will get demerits for low BMIs.

My opinion is all this obese female modeling is it is just another way to promote liberalism that everyone looks great in the same styles. Just another tearing down of common sense values. I think the best female models were the ones back in the day of full figures. We have gone from Twiggy skinny to obese. I have no problem with either, but the clothes they model should be flattering and fit comfortably. CK has gone nuts with this advertising that in my opinion is appealing to a sickness.

I have two pairs of 1980s Calvin Klein "mom" jeans made in the USA. I still wear them.
1980s CKs I am wearing today. 100% cotton no stretch with relaxed thighs.
