I suppose something similar has happenned over and over around many a camp fire. I remember ghost stories being told and scary creatures being seen in the shadows of the flickering flames.
I got the idea 4 this story from a co-worker who had spent the weekend camping with the Boy Scouts & was talking about it at work. I wrote the poem while driving home from work that day. Carl read this poem to Scouts at meetings & camping.
Good, ideas can come from anywhere. I. wrote a short, short story to day about a couple of sales calls back when I was working, but it is too long to post. Anyway, sales is a boring subject. I may give it a sharp edit and rewrite one of these days. I keep writing because the keyboard keeps my fingers nimble. Write some more here.
Keep writing it's a great Outlet. I wrote a short story based on homework assignment for my daughter . At the time my daughter was in grade school. It was to find a Adventure in everyday life. The subject of your poem or story has to be something you're interested in writing. Have a great one
Endurance My daughter had a class assignment to write about an adventure in everyday life. This was a real challenge that bothered me because my life is very routine, go to work, grocery shop, weekends work on my house and property. I went to bed that night with this assignment on my mind, early that morning the story just jumped out at me I jotted everything down, typed it using the word processor. My wife showed it to a friend of hers Who belongs to an Arts Council, her friend asked if they could publish it in there monthly flyer. This is a copy of that flyer. P.S. I did not give this to my daughter.
Hey, Tony, that’s pretty good. If I could write like that, I probably spend more time on th computer.
