This is a miss leading statement but the medical system uses it all the time and they are not lying.

The FTA [Federal Trade Commission] and the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] say that only a drug can use the term cure so even if something like water to eliminate dehydration they cannot use the word cure.

This is why all the naturopath doctors cannot say they can cure anything if you use a mineral, vitamin, amino acid, fatty acid, herb and so on they can be put in jail even if they can prove what they sayIt has been known years that vitamin C was the cure for scurvy but no one can tell you.

It has been known for years that selenium can stop and cure myocardial fibrosis also called Keshan Disease many athletes are dying of this while doctors look for the right drug.

It has been known for many years about Beriberi which can be cured with vitamin B1 what is beriberi it has two forms one dry and one wet the wet is very interesting as the symptoms are enlarged heart and congestive heart failure but doctors have no cure because there is no drug to replace a vitamin. Thousands of people a year die from this while the doctors look for the next magical drug.

It has been known for years that Pellagra was curable with vitamin B3. Pellagra is a disease characterised by diarrhoea, dermatitis and dementia.

Most diseases can be helped with proper nutrition and yes I will say a lot can be cured

All these diseases and more a doctor in all honesty could say there is no cure and be right because there is no drug that can replace vitamin, minerals ect. is that no a sad fact of our medical system. . If that does not make you mad you are not paying attention.

But we won't live forever no matter what vitamins we take and not everything can be cured with vitamins and minerals and supplements.

It would be great if it was true but it's not. We still need drugs for many problems and a lot of it has to do with what genes we are blessed or cursed with in the first place.

So many different things are involved in wether we live to an old age. Choices, environment, genes, luck, etc.

Sometimes we are just lucky. :)

I really agree with what you are saying, @Martin Alonzo .
While it is true that we DO need medications, and many of the modern medicines that we have do save lives; it is also true that many of the drugs that people are given do nothing to help stop the condition or illness, they just deal with the effects of the illness.
Many times, the underlying cause of an illness can be treated with a natural method. Sometimes, it is as simple as a change of diet, and other times, we have a shortage of some vitamin or mineral.
Iodine is a great example of this. Most people are iodine deficient, and iodine is needed for every hormone that our body makes.
So , a deficiency can cause many different symptoms, depending on which part of the body or gland is affected. Things that are seemingly unrelated to iodine deficiency, such as cancer of the breast or prostate gland, or even low intelligence in babies, can be caused by this single lack of a common nutrient.

As Martin pointed out, doctors are not schooled in nutrition anymore, and they mostly only learn to prescribe drugs to treat illnesses, and not make lifestyle or nutrition changes that might stop the cause of the illness altogether.

Yes Chrissy I agree we will not live forever but I do not want to suffer for the last 30 years of my life

I was only pointing out that if there was a mineral, vitamin, or herb that could cure something you are by law not allowed to know.

The gene theory was only a theory and nothing more the new science is Epigenetics which show the environment is more important than the genes. Even Dr.Crick who with Dr. Watson first discovered the double helix 55 years ago and they have not cured one disease. Dr Crick at the Salk Institute said you will never find the answer to disease in the genes. Your large part of your environment is what you eat.

Yes, you may not be told by Drs or whomever but that doesn't mean you won't know...nothing is a secret anymore.

I'm really not getting what you are saying, my dr has told me to take vitamin D because I was deficient.

Also, the same people can grow up in the same house, eat the same food, etc and yet one might die early. Still think genes have a part. Also luck is still a big part of it.

I hope your doctor does not have you on statin because your body needs cholesterol to produce vitamin D. if your cholesterol is low than you need vitamin D
