Has anyone been following this nonsense?? I can't get over the lengths some people will go to now to get attention. I hope she has to pay for all the police work and disruption she has caused. More on the story... https://www.yahoo.com/news/carlee-r...sapearance-interstate-abducted-220546336.html @Yvonne Smith -- is this happening close to y'all? (Nevermind... I just looked at the map and see it's near Birmingham.)
I read a little on another forum about a woman seeing a toddler on the interstate, but did not read about any kidnapping issue. She is a 25 year old nursing student. I wonder if she's crazy, or trying to jump-start an internet career.
Did you read the entire story? Apparently the toddler on the interstate story was bogus, and then the fake "abduction." (She was kidnapped by a white man with orange hair... I'm guessing Prince Harry.) What a moron.
OK, I had to watch the "update" twice. The Hoover Chief of Police's fashion ensemble had me mesmerized for a minute there. I wonder if @Bobby Cole has an Easter outfit like this if it's an Alabama thang? (Video is 12 minutes but you can see the outfit in the first minute. )
Yeh, I read your entire Yahoo link. I read it elsewhere last week when it was fresh under the headline "Woman Finds Toddler On Freeway" and had yet to unfold to the pile of crap. That was on the forum that has over 3,000 members online at any given point in time, and stuff gets shoved back to Page 10 real quick, so I've not followed it. She said that the kidnappers fed her cheese crackers, and there's a video of her buying some before she reported the wandering toddler. That's the kind of crap some teenager would make up, not a 25 year old adult. I wonder what life issues she has going on where she thought this might distract from/fix them. I wonder what kind of nurse she would have made?????
I'm still wondering how a toddler in a diaper walks 600 yards barefoot on the side of a freeway in 3 minutes. That's 6 football fields... yeah, I can see how that might happen.
The motive is more often money: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherri_Papini_kidnapping_hoax Sherri Papini is an American woman known for having disappeared on November 2, 2016, reportedly while out jogging a mile from her home in Redding, California.[1] Papini was 34 years old at the time. She reappeared three weeks later on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, having been reportedly freed by her captors at 4:30 that morning still wearing restraints, on the side of County Road 17 near Interstate 5 in Yolo County, about 150 miles (240 km) south of where she disappeared.[2] The case garnered major media attention, with national law enforcement experts reporting doubts or otherwise baffled as to the unlikely details and inconsistencies of the reported abduction. In August 2020 she stood by her story when questioned by a federal agent and a detective from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, despite being advised that it was a crime to lie to a federal agent. Papini was charged with mail fraud as she had received over $30,000 from the California Victim Compensation Board between 2017 and 2021. On March 3, 2022, Papini was arrested on charges of making false statements to federal law enforcement officers and for mail fraud. According to the Department of Justice, Papini fabricated the story of her abduction. She had reportedly been staying with a former boyfriend, James Reyes, during the time she was supposedly missing and had harmed herself in order to give credence to her lies. On March 9, 2022, Papini was released from jail before her trial on a $120,000 bond and after surrendering her passport.[3] She and her lawyer had no comment on the allegations against her.[3] Papini had faced up to 25 years in prison between the charges of mail fraud and lying to a federal officer.[3] However, six weeks after her arrest, Papini signed a plea deal admitting that she had orchestrated the hoax.[4] In September 2022, she was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined $300,000.
I was watching one of those crime tv shows, and a woman was murdered but law enforcement was skeptical as to the veracity of her disappearance, because others had cried wolf. Her friends were pissed because she was lumped in with others merely due to similarities of stories.
I notice that in the chief's statement, he thanks several agencies including the secret service...?? Um, what?
First 5 mins of this clip are interesting. Is this another Smollet case? (2) Is Carlee Russell The Female Jussie Smollet?! - YouTube
Pink blazer and a blue tie. Gotta be makin’ a non-binary statement or he’s shooting for the mayor’s job and needs to be noticed. So far as the “victim” goes, where were the MAGA hats and bleach? Now, regarding the bit about contacting the Secret Service to help out, with every inch of the White House covered by cameras, the Secret Service couldn’t see who left cocaine in a cubby hole so what chance did they have to find a missing person?
That's odd. I can see the FBI if it's across state lines kidnapping, but the Secret Service??? Was Hunter on the scene?
