There was no word on cause of death, just that she passed away in hospital after a brief illness.

RIP. You were one of the best.

Keyboardist/vocals, Christine McVie has died. She died in the hospital where she was for an illness. She was 79. She wrote many of the songs that Fleetwood Mac played. Her first husband was John McVie, who was a founding member, along with Mick Fleetwood, of Fleetwood Mac.

Stevie Nicks called Christine McVie were very close friends. "I just lost my best friend" Nicks has stated.

I wasn't a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, but have listened, and know, a number of their big hits. I really admired their drummer, Mick Fleetwood as I did the drummer and lead singer of Genesis, Phil Collins.

    RIP, Christine!
