There are some Tim Horton's k-cups on Woot! today. Maybe I should buy some before the tariffs kick in tomorrow.
Yes; Tim Horton's is a Canadian coffeehouse chain. I used to always bring home a couple of cans of Tim's ground coffee when I'd go to Canada on business trips. Actually there are several Tim Horton's in the states now, too.
I don’t think I have ever had Tim Horton’s . I have not had Starbucks for probably 20+ years, but I remember I used to like it back then, although it was so expensive that it was a once or twice a year treat for me to buy it. What do you not like about Tim Horton’s coffee, @Lois Winters ?
AND they're pretentious little bastards. When they first opened in the DC area, I thought I'd try them out. I was overwhelmed by choices and asked for "a cup of regular coffee." You would have thought I was in a French restaurant asking "Where the ketchup at?" And the coffee taste burnt. Years later I gave them another chance, and the coffee (and the experience) were just as bad.
I actually like Starbuck's regular coffee, but I like really dark roast and strong brew. I seldom go there because it's too expensive, but they have a lemon pound cake that is to die for. My kids give me gift cards to Starbucks because they know I like coffee so I get an occasional treat.
Tim Horton's coffee was just too tasteless to me, Yvonne. Starbucks on the other hand tasted like it had been run through the coffee maker too many times. But, that's me. By the way, they are still very expensive.
Interesting. I thought just the opposite. We used to have a few Tim Hortons around here (they closed a couple of years ago), but I thought their coffee was too strong and tasted like Sanka if you put too much of it in the cup.
Since my Moss & Stone coffeemaker quit making good coffee, I dumped it after using it for a few years and ordered a 4-cup Farberware electric coffee percolator, which makes sense, I think, because I'm not drinking quite as much coffee as I used to. The new coffeemaker hasn't arrived yet so I can't report on it.
My new percolator coffee pot came today. It makes good coffee, but when they say it is a 4-cup coffeemaker, the cups are about half the size of any cup I use for coffee. It fits nicely on the shelf in my office and is way easier for me to use than the drip coffeemaker I was using after my last percolator finally died. However, if I find myself drinking more coffee in a day, it will run through my coffee more quickly because it uses as much coffee grounds as a 12-cup coffeemaker (which held about six cups, so I should have figured that part out), so I might have to revisit the idea at that time. However, I still have other options: my Ninja coffeemaker still works fine; it's in another room, but I mostly use it to heat water for tea, and I still have the drip coffeemaker.
