When living in Florida, there are two things that are darn near impossible to miss........alligators and small Gecko lizards. However, since moving here in January 2009, other than going to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, we've only seen one alligator out in the open. It was laying by a retention pond next to the boat landing we use to launch our boat from. Looked like it was the size of a teenage alligator. It was just laying in the sun. A few minutes ago, I got a call from my wife telling me that her company put out a memo e-mail warning employees about an alligator in the pond next to the building. Apparently someone seen it. There is a cement path that goes around the pond that people walk on at lunch for exercise. There is also a couple of stationary metal "picnic" type tables that are next to the walking path. Well, guess that will be the end of the lunchtime walk around the pond that some employees do. These are fast running critters.
