I know it's not just me that has a problem with the normal and usual activities of daily living that we take for granted and that are now totally disrupted because of this VIRUS. We All Share The Misery.

I would say The Reaction To COVID-19 has changed our lives.

I agree that we all share the misery, but I gotta be grateful that I'm retired and not out there in the middle of this mess every single day.

Things are different, but I'm not living in misery. In fact, not a lot has changed in my day-to-day life.

Yes, I am fortunate, Lon. And so are you. Many people are wondering how they will pay their rent and feed their children today... we are not. So let's count our blessings.

I agree with this. I've mentioned before how I almost feel guilty when so many are suffering as you say.

I've been unemployed before, and have done what I had to do in order to pay my bills. But with this, people are unemployed, much of the economy is shut down, so all they can do is sit at home, watch their lives fall apart, and brood on it. Even those who are working are forced to wear a mask all day long.

I have things I'd rather be doing, like taking community college classes and music lessons. Heck, even short day trips are out of the questions, because I have no idea what may or may not be open at random destinations. But my needs are met...and then some.

My heart breaks for what's been done to so many lives.

We just lost our first acquaintance directly attributable to Covid today. She was 65 years old and originally thought to be in good health. She was hospitalized 4 weeks ago and spent the last month of her life on a ventilator. She was fully vaccinated since the beginning of summer.

Sorry to hear this, but on a "health" standpoint, did she have underlining health problems, like asthma? A person can be fully vaccinated, but possibly due to underlining health problems, getting Covid 19 can make things very, very bad.

There was no need for it. COVID was used as an excuse to disrupt our lives to the advantage of those who brought about the disruption, and it may well have been created for that purpose. As free people, we could have simply said no. Unfortunately, too many of us have no interest in being free.

As far as I know, there were no underlying health problems, but I didn't know her well. Her parents are friends of my wife's.

I've said it before, we are distilled into three groups:
-Those who treasure individual freedoms (I include property rights here)
-Those who demand perceived safety through conformity, and will screw themselves and others in the pursuit
    -The apathetic

Being too "free" can get a person in trouble also.

Yesterday I read about the death of 4-Star General Collin Powell and the online article didn't mention a thing about him fighting cancer, as well as the Covid 19. But, watched a news report and it sure mentioned about the cancer.
