The market where I get food delivery has them listed, but when I've ordered a lb the last 2 times no dice, they don't have them....I called the store and the meat man, no we have not had them for a lone while....Why advertise them?????? The ones I TRIED to order were $7.99 lb, and they are t he low priced chops. They had another choice and they were like $20something for 2 lb pkg. I didn't even attempt to get those.

I would use 1 chop in a pot of the soup I make for a different flavor for the soup. Oh damn.

I called. Whole Foods to see what they have to offer for lamb chops, and I don't know w hat cut these were... $23.99 lb. I told meat man they wiil rot there if it's up to regular people to buy.

I need to call a neighbor market and check their prices, but they were always pricey before covid...NOW...and delivery is $10.00

We are getting the screws deeper and deeper...

Ok t his is getting more hilarious,,,the market has 2 cuts of chops, one is $26.99 lb and the other $49 a lb. I laughed in the man's face, and said do you have millionairs shopping there?

This is "The Lamb Chop story" lots of buyers are told when they first get into the purchasing field. It was told to me: A woman goes into the butcher and asks how much his lamb chops are. He tells her $26.99 a pound. "$26.99 a pound!?!?!?!?" she screams. "The guy up the street only charges $7.99 pound!" The butcher says "Well, ma'am, why don't you go buy some from him???" She says "He doesn't have any today." To which the butcher replies "Well, when I don't have any, my price is only $3.50 a pound!"

Anyway...a few years ago my local Food Lion had lamb chops marked down because they were hitting their expiry date. Since I hadn't had lamb for a while, I picked up a pack and marinated them overnight with lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary, thyme, garlic, and salt & pepper. Then I broiled them. They were good!!! For some reason this store continued to carry them, even though they sat unsold until they had to be marked down to move them, so I started having them pretty regularly. Then I got tired of them. Maybe I'll rotate them back into my menus, if they're not real expensive.

Lastly, I'll leave you with this:

I had a Lamb Chop puppet, a Charlie Horse puppet, and a Hush Puppy puppet...and a big ol' crush on Sheri.

Her daughter is carrying on the legacy.

Sadly, Sheri died in 1998 at the age of 65.
    -1984 treated for breast cancer
-1998 (June) diagnosed with uterine cancer, had a hysterectomy, passed away 2 months later from viral pneumonia

After her uterine cancer diagnosis, she insisted on taping a final episode of The Charlie Horse Musical Pizza.

Back on topic: I know she loved Lamb Chop the best, even at $49 a pound ;)

Just thinking this morning while waking up with clear thoughts, had Donald Trump got his 2nd Term, things in our country would be as they were pre 2020. And my lamb chops would be affordable and available.

Daughter made comment since so much theft is going on, markets that have pre packaged meats run the risk of those packages being stolen by the desperate people out there.

Beth: You know what is going on the Dems continue their Damage and they continue to groom more to vote D....

What brains they have are so damaged, could be all the SHOTS they took --- if they even did.

Even though RFK Jr is a registered D, at least he's a more evolved open minded SHOT safety person.....He's in San Diego this weekend for a 3 hr speech/rally.

If a Dem were to win again in next election I'd be more comfortable with RFK, but right now Donald has my vote...so he can pick up to keep cleaning the swamp.

Yeh, that looks good. I don't know why lamb isn't more popular in this country. I gotta think our Aussie members get their fill of it. Now that Joy mentioned lamb, I got a hankering (I am the most food-suggestible person I know.)

The Food Lion that marks down the lamb chops often does the same with veal. I've made Veal Marsala as well as chops with apples, chicken stock, oyster sauce & fennel. I'll buy a marked-down package and grind & freeze it to have on hand for meatballs, meatloaf, etc. (Now I want meatballs, too. daggone it.)

Lamb is a staple food to Australians ,we had roast leg of lamb a few days ago with all the trimmings …I like thick mint sauce on my roast meat …. after the sauce / gravy has been added …..and ya have to have roast parsnips / potatoes / pumpkin and peas ……but I can’t eat peas ….the shells irritates my insides ..so I cook green beans preferably fresh

I buy a large pack of minced beef from Costco ( got a pack 2 days an ago ) it was 4 kg it’s half the price of other supermarkets and 10 times nicer fresh meat …..I make Shepards pie ( for meal tonite ) meat balls / make pasta bakes / savoury mince which I have over a cooked whole potato ..or mash ……it works out to about $2.50 each for the meat for a meal for us
