I remember sometimes watching American Bandstand on the television, but I never went to any of the school dances and never learned to dance. Sometimes, I wish that I hadn’t missed that part of growing up, but I just never did any of the social things, except I belonged to the local horseman’s association and went on trail rides. But nothing ever to do with dancing. I did like the music and often listened to my little portable radio, usually every day.
You had the horses to dance with, all I had was a donkey and a stolen ride now and then from our neighbor's horses.
Braless women with dead flowers in their hair, free sex, drugs galore. I liked the sixties culture to a certain extent, but then I was just marring and having children so not so much far as being wife and mother. Drugs came on the scene as did loss of morality and family values which we all got caught up in, it was fun times wild and free, till it wasn't.
I took a few lessons of ballroom dance in the early 70s, it was fun and some of the steps I taught my kids and grandkids. Actually, I was going to teach dance, but that never happened. @Kate Ellery, what is your favorite ballroom dance? I like the waltz, but it takes a lot of balance to do it really well. The waltz is the hardest one to learn, Imo.
Blues and Saunters @Marie Mallery we went dancing last night it was quite hot ,~ they had the evaporative air conditioner on but it makes the floor sticky .
