I have to admit, I find this surprising. Why would they want to do this? Whatever happened to plain old lemonaide? “The legal complaint called Charged Lemonade a “dangerous energy drink” and argues that Panera failed to adequately warn consumers about its ingredients, which also include guarana extract, another stimulant. The large cup contains more caffeine than standard cans of Red Bull and Monster energy drinks combined, as well as the equivalent of almost 30 teaspoonfuls of sugar.” https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/29/pan...tores-after-lawsuit-over-customers-death.html
To fill in the details...a customer who had a known heart issue purchased and consumed this drink, then they died.
Well, it sounds like a 5-yeart old child with a heart condition was given an energy drink by her parents/guardian and subsequently died. Did I read that wrong? Shouldn't the parents carry some of the blame? After all, nobody, including Panera, would believe anyone would give a 5-year old with a heart condition a jazzed up energy drink.
Not a 5 year old girl: Sarah Katz, an Ivy League student with a heart condition, died after she drank Panera’s Charged Lemonade last year. Her heart condition was diagnosed when she was 5.
