I just sent this video to 2 friends w ho struggle with afib and the frigging dr ugs they take and they didn't
know about the possible Vit C connection and afib.

I was told I was in afib some yrs ago and never went to a cardio doc as I did not want a bag full of
drugs that I would be sent home with....I know that scenerio.

I take higher does of Vit C and flavoinds daily 5K-5K and then my Grape Seed Ex is more powerful than Vit C, so perhaps what I'm doing is working for my so called afib issue.

The Vit C dosing is to keep bowels working better and Grape Seed Ex is a great all general health support.

Do your research, of course. And talking to your heart doc I can almost see him laughing....

    Keep Healthy....:):)

Just so I don't have to burn up my rural internet watching a video...is he saying that Vitamin C can help fix AFIB, or is he saying that too much Vitamin C can cause AFIB symptoms?

    I don't "mega-dose" it...between my multi and my supplement, I've getting 560mg/day.

He's saying can "fix" afib and 560mg of C is a low low low dose. He is also saying that research needs to go into the C and afib and it takes money etc...to go here... I believe the doc on the video is a Dr. Gupta and in India Gupta is like Smith here in U.S. I don't believe he's Sanjay Gupta.

Interesting. I know the "recommended amount" of C is 90mg, with the "upper US RDA limit" being 2,000 mg. Most of the health/medical websites speak to the cancer-preventing benefit of C, while some subset speak to the cardio benefit. With my kidney stone history and the "does/doesn't" cause kidney stones stuff I read, I've not supplemented at higher doses.

If you go to the main YouTube page for York Cardiology, it says:

I am Dr Sanjay Gupta. I am a Consultant heart specialist in York, UK and I believe that high quality reliable jargon-free information about health should be available at no cost to everyone in the world. Through my Youtube channel, I want to engage, educate and empower patients to take control of their health by addressing their lifestyles and preventing disease from happening in the first instance. Most of all, i want people to stop being fearful and anxious about their health by getting them to focus on improving their quality of life and living fearlessly.

This site joined YouTube in 2014. Dunno if it's the Dr. Sanjay Gupta you're thinking of.

I just skimmed the video with the Closed Caption turned on, and found that he's only recommending 500mg twice a day. I can do that. It's the midpoint of the US RDA, so we're not talking mega-doses or enough to cause gastric side effects.

This same young Indian doctor, and he's not Sanjay, also has t his Afib and Stroke video and he talks about people with comorbidities are prone to strokes....

As I see it, for me, my grape Seed Extract cleans and THINS the blood and I've been taking it for decades....so this is why I count on this herbal as I do. I've been studying taking care of my health and NOT with pharma drugs for a long long time.

The RDA is not a source I live by, they have no clue what is necessary and needed by the people...

I agree with your observations regarding the [outdated, suspect] RDA, as I imagine many here would, also.

Regarding Vitamin C: there were studies done showing that high doses might increase the level of oxalates in your bloodstream. Oxalates are a common component of kidney stones. If you've ever had kidney stones, you understandably avoid anything that might aggravate them...fear sells.

And it's also been said on the Vit C, what you body doesn't use, you pee it out....

Fear fear fear in it all.

But when you pee it (or anything else) out, it goes through your kidneys.

This is one for Ripley's Believe it or Not..... I just had a call from the Vit C, stroke doc I'm posting about here and he's with York Cardiology in the UK and I sent an email to him there and I just got a call from him....He is NOT the Gupta on American TV.....

How many docs have called us out of the blue here in the U.S and Unreal. He's Indian residing and working in the UK....he is younger than Dr. Gupta here in U.S.

John, do what feels right for you...I'm offering info. How many heart docs in the U.S. give advice about Vit C, makes me wonder a lot...Maybe an integrative Medicine doc or maybe not. The allopathic docs can't say anything off the mainstream, they would lose their licenes, the high GOD western medicine world of doctors/. Many have a license to maim and kill.

I agree. The problem arises in deciding which non-mainstream source to trust. The main health websites all parrot the results from the "causes kidney stones" study, but what else are they gonna do?

I found one website shooting down that study: orthomolecular.org This is from their "About" page:

Orthomolecular medicine describes the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the body with optimal amounts of substances which are natural to the body.

They have an article titled Rationale for Intravenous Vitamin C in Cancer Patients.

The MAIn reason I started on Grape Seed Ex in 1995, we were informed at a lecture on it, that it May P revent Cancers....that is the MAIn reason i got with it.

On the kidney cleanse, drink enough water.

    On Urine Health and Color

    • Clear urine is a sign of good hydration and potential overhydration.
    • Pale yellow urine is an indicator of good hydration.
    • Dark yellow urine is a sign to drink more fluids.
    • Amber-colored urine can indicate dehydration.
    • Orange urine can be caused by various foods or medications or be a sign of potential liver problems.
