Love this! Wish I was still young enough to get myself over there and stand up with everyone for Congress to listen to "We the People" and change the corruptions in our political system. http://www.theguardian.com/film/201...ed-us-capitol-demonstrations?CMP=share_btn_fb
I don't see it that way. Demonstrations today are funded by the same big-money interests that fund our major political parties, and seem intended to bring about the few injustices that our government isn't yet able to do directly. If there are any true grassroots movements anymore, they are quickly coopted.
So are you saying this demonstration is set up by those big money funders and those people who are demonstrators are just being used by those funders...who know nothing is really going to change? Are the demonstrators sincere in what they are standing up for?
http://www.southernstudies.org/2016/02/massive-civil-disobedience-planned-at-us-capitol-t.html Well I went back and did a little more research on this....and I still stand on my opinion that this is a good thing. Even if big money is funding the expenses for this demonstration...the most important thing here to me is that people are standing up and letting our Government know what they want and that they are really "fed up" with the corruption and power going only to the elite, etc. Change has got to start somewhere...and I'm just glad to see it starting. Might as well use the big money Ken for the right things instead of the wrong things. And what these people are demonstrating for is for right things even if you and I have different opinions on that.
What I've seen of this is the demonstrators, at least from our area, are mostly Hispanic and they want a free ride to citizenship and open borders. This is what most Americans do NOT want.
"They are demanding that the U.S. Congress "listen to the People and take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in politics and ensure our elections are free, fair, and afford every American an equal voice, regardless of wealth." The above is what those Demonstrators are standing for....and I see nothing wrong in this. There will always be some that may be there for their own Agenda that is just the way life works. For far to long we have trusted our elected Representatives to represent our interests...and they have proven they are doing anything but this. So "We the People" are starting to speak up for ourselves now"...this is a necessary part of bringing about change as far as I am concerned. I'm sure as with every start up in things there will be a few glitches and detours along the way...but change begins with that first step we take for what we believe in.
