My daughter loves dancing around the house and running up and down the hill behind the house just for exercise. Yesterday she was outside and fell on the cement not hitting her knee but not being able to straighten it. she was in tears and calling for help her mother told to stop playing around and get up. She screamed I cannot get dad. I was about fifteen feet away inside the house on the computer when I heard her call for me. I ask what happen she told me she could not straighten her leg because the pain. I picked her up and carried her into the house and put her on the sofa. I checked for any swelling or heat in the knee and nothing. My wife was looking for someone to take her to the hospital and I told hold off there dose not seem like anything is broken. She said the pain was minimum if she dose not try to straighten her leg. Told her to relax and see if she could slowly straighten the leg she tried but the pain got to much. I picked up her leg under the knee and moved it sideways to the outside she had pain but to the inside she did not. Getting out my illustrated medical dictionary I look at the knee joint to see what could be causing it. I figured it must be pinching something in the joint. I went back over and lifted her leg again moved it inward and slowly straightened it as it stared to straighten a big smile came on my daughter face as there was no pain and the leg was straight. Two seconds later she was on her feet giving me a big hug and thanking me.

    Good job, Dad.

Good thing you had the reference books on hand and the wherewithal to use them.

There was also a pleasant sup-prize I never realized that she weight 110 lbs that i snack up from the cement and carried her into the house and put her on the sofa. No ache or pain not bad for a 78 year old or maybe just adrenaline

    That is encouraging!!!

You gotta feel good knowing you can take care of her. I'm sure she does.

Benefits well beyond a repaired knee that will last her a lifetime.
