Yep and then they're usually the ones caught cheating or stealing like the Bakers and Jimmy Swaggert. Probably a few more but can't recall the names.
Nor me...absolutely crazy ..and now of course they don't even have to have a bricks and mortar church...just sit on the internet spewing hell fire, and rake the money in for every one who views it... .
Lol I know ! I've seen them, they're all the bloomin same aren't they, if it weren't for the fact they're racking in the money, I'd find it hilarious 'cos they look so 'mental'
Yep so many more like them too as you say CC... and the bakers and swaggarts were so bad that we even got to hear about them here in the UK... It makes me laugh as well, all those other religions who make you pay a Tithe...what the ..glory hallelujah is that all about... 20 % of your wages to the church...oooh yeah sign me UP!!! The problem is there are some really decent people out there who are priests or church ministers who really do want to do good, or help people live decent lives, but they are given such a bad rep by these money grabbers.. and hypocrites who profess to be teaching the word of God!!
Ladies, ladies....da gum, enough of the butchering of ministers and pastors. There are bad ones out there, but you ladies know there are good ones as well. We happen to like the ones that heavily preach. They make their congregation listen! Then again, I’m basically a loud person, and when I speak, I want people to hear me. If a minister, and his congregation, chooses not to like gays or lesbians, that’s entirely up to both. If some people, in general, chose not to have gays, lesbians or any other sexual orientation pushed in their face, they have that right. We chose not to make friends with smokers.....our choice and that’s all. Now, how about we get back to the Thread.
@Cody Fousnaugh Did the latter part, living with a couple, also take place in Indiana? I recall you being familiar with the area between Ft. Wayne and Churubusco. My wife even knew folks named Fousnaugh, though she semembers the spelling "Fos" instead of "Fous". Frank
@Cody Fousnaugh One need not necessarily be a Christian to dislike this promotion of multiple-gender definition........ Frank
@Holly Saunders You have revealed here a very painful and disturbing youth.......it must be painful to bring it to public eyes, yet, in a way, soothing to know others are listening, and understanding. Thus, in view of your youth and it's tribulations, I can understand, but just a bit, the intense interest politically today regarding childrens' welfare at home. Might authoritative intervention back then, when you were a child, have helped? Perhaps. And yet, my reading lately indicates a much lesser level of quality of existence for today's kids removed from parental custody. History has recorded many instances of wives or children taking the drastic step against abusive husbands and fathers.........such instances have tarnished results, at best. I've thought about this extensively. My conclusion, though lacking finesse or tact (Had your own father any of those sterling attributes?), might work. It would involve a good friend's intrusion, a friend of both parents, a good, strong-willed, believable guy who was completely aware of the circumstances, sitting down with the abuser, alone, perhaps at some quiet pub, and laying out the facts: change your evil ways, or it's guaranteed you will be found along the railroad tracks somewhere. Shocked? I can be meaner than the worst of the worst, if need be. Frank
