Grrrrrrr Yesterday we traveled to a town 20 km from where we live ( we live in a small country town ) to do our shopping ...now I like junk mail as we call it ..I go through the supermarket junk mail to see if anything I useally buy is on special ....this area which consists of 6 small towns of about 4.000 people in each town ,with one slightly larger town of about 5000 ....anyway in the larger town we have one supermarket Woolworths .....the other towns only have Foodland stores ... We traveled to shop at Woolworths .spent 1.5 hours in there shopping ..got to the checkout ..and the fire alarm went off SIGH !!!! We had to evacauate the store ..leaving our shopping behind .....WW is a freestanding building ..not a shopping centre .... We were told they would more then likely be closed for the day ..... We traveled another 10 km to Foodland ...did out shopping AGAIN .... come home put it away whet tho have a calming cuppa of camomile tea only to realise we had "bought that " in WW ...not in Foodland Grrrrr Don't think I will bother going out today .,after yesterday's shopping trip Not sure this is the correct thread for this ..
LOL...Kate...i's supposed to be Happy thread... ...only joshing with ya.... I 've had days like that it's highly frustrating.. We haven't had a Woolworth here for years they closed all the stores down about 10 years ago... I think your Woolworth is a little different to what ours was... ours sold 90% hardware, and make-up and the famous Woolies sweet counter .... everybody misses Woolworth because at one time you could get almost anything you wanted there.. We have so many other clones of it trading under different names..Poundstretcher, Savers. B&M, Wilkos...loads more ... but we all still miss FW Woolworth (woolies) ..and the winfield trade name... although it did go downhill in the last few years of trading
Lately I even had more days than not like yours @Kate Ellery. Our woolworths used to be a five and dime store. Foodland was the name of a supermarket in the early 60's in Pittsburgh where I lived until I was 18.
@Kate Ellery ...awe yes, think most of us can relate to your off day.Cheer up luv, today will be much better....hopefully
Yes @Gloria Mitchell we all have those days ,I'd been to,the city the day before ... never mind I will buy my tea when I go out again today ...
