Because of the way I speak I guess, although I'm not a Northener :p
Maybe I should have said Peggy Mount :D (who I adored)
Anyway, I've not got one curler in me hair all day - just part of the day :p

LOL>.Patsy Peggy Mount was a very funny comedian, but she was a very large woman who played overbearing characters.. and had the deep voice of a man....

For the most part I'm actually more comfortable "in my skin and with my looks" than I was when I was younger. It does bother me some that it seems I'm "invisible" to alot of people now that I'm older. But I've thought about that and think it is more than just the fact that we are "old" now. I think most people are so busy and their lives are just so hectic that they don't have time for theirselves...much less others. They hurry here and scurry there, never taking time to stop and "smell the roses" or to notice people and things around them....unless they are forced to stop for one reason or another to have to stop and notice. Even my Family can and often does get into that hurry/scurry mode and when I feel neglected or invisible to them I just let them know I need some loving from them. And then we set a date to have lunch or see a movie, or just chill out for a little while together. And we all benefit from doing this. :) There never seems to be enough time for anyone now days....but the secret is if you care you have to make time for those you love. If this world is all we have....we need to slow down and enjoy not only each other, but the beauty all around us too. :)

Thing is, can't enjoy family when parts of the family live states away from each other. And, nobody wants to, or can spend the money to visit each other. The way it is with my inlaws and us. We'd love to see them more, but we are the ones that moved out of the state and won't move back.

The way I look at it, some families are close-knit, while others aren't.

To be honest when I was 17 . I thought my brother only aged 25 was old. Perhaps age makes us forget too. I totally agree with your sentiment @Babs Hunt at least that's what we keep telling the kids. I think we were more thoughtful in those days also but I was lucky enough to come from a close family.
