Are there some serie’s episodes that stick in your mind? We have been (re)watching “The Closer” with Kyra Sedgwick. It’s a good series, ran for six consecutive seasons. My favorite episode is Season 1, episode 3. It really defined who she was. She was brought in from outside to run a “priority homicide” division in L.A. leaving some hurt feelings in the group she needs to win over. First appearance is of a pretty little blonde Georgia peach with that strong accent, especially when she says, “Thank eeeyou, thank eeeyou so much.” It turns out though that, although she was known to have headed police units in Georgia and DC, only her boss and a few others know she was a very skilled CIA interrogator before that. So behind the sweet demeanor of Brenda Lee Johnson is someone who, though very protective of her own people, is majorly self centered and will lie, manipulate, deceive and deflect to get what she wants. And what she wants is to get people to confess so they don’t have to mess with a trial. In a couple episodes, like the one I mentioned, you had better confess or deal with unforeseen deadly consequences.
I enjoyed The Closer also. Had trouble understanding Kyra Sedgwick at times, because she talked so fast, and breathy, almost like a whisper.
I just watched the last episode of Terra Nova which was a sci-fi series on Fox in 2011. The favorite episode might have been the one that wasn't made when the show got too expensive to produce, so they ended it apparently in an unresolved state. The bad guys went away to re-group and their leader disappeared after being taken for dead. Bummer. I really was getting into it even if there were many plot holes.
One of my favorites was an episode of "The Twilight Zone" called "Hocus Pocus And Frisbee." A teller of self-flattering tall tales is taken aboard a space ship & meets space aliens. He escapes & tells everyone what happened to him but no one will believe him. I like this episode because I've met several people like that.
