Somehow, we missed this decade of songs here in this topic. We have a thread for the 50's songs, and one for the 70's songs, and a few of the songs from the 60's have slipped into one or the other of those threads, mostly depending on what part of the era that they came out in.
To start it off, here is one I had almost forgotten about by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

I started the 60's at Panama City, Florida and ended the decade living on Oahu, Hawaii so...
    It's the Beach Boys!

'60s, eh? Billboard Top 40 #1 recordings for that decade. Explanation of columns: (left to right)
First, the year. Then, #weeks in charts, then weeks in top 40, then weeks in top 10, then weeks in #1. Arranged in order of most weeks #1, top to bottom. Frank

@Tim Burr - The Beach Boys are my favourite band to this day
Their release of a couple of years back is superb - titled 'That's why God made the radio'
    They 'still' got it :)

When this song came out in '69, I was 17, and most of the people I knew said these things would never happen. Like the test tube babies!

Lou Christie was my crush! He was from Pittsburgh just like I was. I even saw him in concert there.
