I know it happens every year but I'm always amazed at how quickly the days get shorter. I can tell by how the shadow of the house moves. In the mornings, I look out my bedroom window which faces north. In the summer, there is hardly any shadow. As fall comes, the shadow lengthens. I have a tall row of needlepoint holly a few feet from my window (for the birds). I am watching the shadow move up the bushes. It has moved from a few inches below the bushes to half way up the bushes already.
Raining here for the past 3 days and about 2 more days to go before we can undo the vegetables in our garden.. Very heavy frost tonight with the temperature going down to -4c... Good-bye any plants left out..
Rain and Frost !!!, , Please go away,,!!! Steve needs to go out and dig up the frozen clay where his now frozen veggies that were to be added to his home made stew that he so wanted to make today!!,,
I’ve got sore knees this morning cause the floor wasn’t very slippery and it hurts our joints if it’s isn’t slippery because with ballroom dancing we slide / glide our feet I’ve got leather sole dancing shoes so they slip …they are closed in a couple of weeks to re surface the floor
so they are going to re-surface the floor, ,,that great, just be careful not to slip and slide and land on your hide,,OUCH!!

I'm here and it is almost 7:30am on Wednesday.. No-one is here but I didn't expect anyone.. So so day today which means work in the garden salvaging what is left before the big freeze.. That is one heck of a lot of work trimming and washing the veggies.. Oh well, it must be done...

Louise.. I think planting the seeds might be a bit more interesting..... Tonight it will be -6c and everything above ground is gone.. My carrots will still be OK.. I still have some patio furniture and some ornaments to put away.. I have the heat on in the house for the past month or so.. I will be putting on the bed our winter comforter soon.. Time to start making homemade soup and casseroles soon..
yes, steve , I too, look forward to Homemade soups and casseroles , and meatloafs and stews too,, only thing is ,,I gain weight in the winter months,,
