In the 1950s Watson and Crick Propose the Double Helix Francis Crick and James Watson went on to get a Nobel Prize for their discovery The worldwide effort, originally named the Human Genome Initiative but later known as the Human Genome Project or HGP, began in 1987 and was celebrated as complete in 2001. When begun, HGP was dubbed "big science" comparable to placing human beings on the moon. It was international in scope, involving numerous laboratories and associations of scientists around the world and receiving public funding in the United States of $200 million per year with a scheduled fifteen year timeline. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) began funding the project in 1987, followed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 1990. As of today not one of the diseases that they list as caused by the genes has been cured some 60 years of research and millions of dollars. They have found where some genes are turned on and others turn off. It is called the gene expression. Two rats same genes Diabetes numbers by year There is a new study called epigenetic that might explain why these genes get turned on and off. There is research showing that certain mineral deficiencies in the mother can cause a gene to be turn on or off. Example is cystic fibrosis when selenium is deficient in the mother the gene that is related to cystic fibrosis is turned off or on. If caught early enough this gene expression can be reversed. As being a lay person the only way I can understand is to ask question and think. If Darwin was correct the bad or unhealthy traits should die out and the healthy and strong should survive. Where did all these bad genes come from they claim that 1/3 persons will get cancer and supposed it is genetic but 200 years ago it was rare where did that gene come from. 27.8 % of the people are diabetic and 95% of them it is type 2 where did that gene come from Diabetes is becoming more common in the United States. From 1980 through 2014, the number of Americans with diagnosed diabetes has increased fourfold (from 5.5 million to 22.0 million). Obesity is genetic??? 200 years ago no one was fat where did that gene come from. If you would like some answers just ask your doctor what particular gene is it. The doctors are feeding a lot of BS and they think when they say it is genetic and not your fault and there is nothing you can do about it just suffer because it was your parents fault.
Have you heard of the gene manipulation? I think that technique is being used in the so called GMO (genetically modified organism) in some farm products. I have read an article that someday man will be free of diseases, particularly the inherited diseases like diabetes, when this technique of gene manipulation is done to humans. But that is not good news to us because the manipulation will be done in the fetus level only. We had been to the hospital again the other to visit my husband's aunt who has stage 4 breast cancer. It looks like the cancer cells are wreaking havoc on her body with complications. She is the youngest sister of my father-in-law so her genetic makeup is close to my husband's. And that's what gives us the creeps now.
If genes had anything to do with cancer, diabetes and all the other they claim are genetic ailment you could be checked out when you are born because your genes don't change So these ailments would be there at birth. Did your great grandfather have all these ailments or where did you get the genes that are scaring you
