I clicked on it and watched it. She has an amazing voice. The only thing more amazing is her talent with musical instruments. I watched some more of her videos. There is one called "Priscilla's Song" that she sings in another language. Beautiful. She always has a cat somewhere in the video. She played one instrument that I've never seen. It looks like some kind of box. She turned a handle and played the tune. Do you know what that one is?
Was it like this, Shirley? It's a hurdy gurdy...the ones you see in movies with street corner musicians (circa 1920) and their monkeys.
I don't think it was exactly like that, more boxy, I think. Still could be the same instrument, just shaped differently.
That's a hurdy gurdy, just a slightly different style than the one I posted. From WIKI: The hurdy-gurdy is generally thought to have originated from fiddles in either Europe or the Middle East (e.g., the rebab instrument) some time before the eleventh century A.D. The first recorded reference to fiddles in Europe was in the 9th century by the Persian geographer Ibn Khurradadhbih (d. 911) describing the lira (lūrā) as a typical instrument within the Byzantine Empire.
