I just finished off some ham and (16 varieties of) beans soup that I made last week. As an FYI, it took me all of 30 minutes to cook the concoction using the Instant Pot. Had I known about this thread, I would have added kielbasa that was in the fridge to the mix. I will certainly do that next. Thanks for the thread.
John, I put sausage in red beans but link sausage doesn't do so well in the IP. I guess the pressure makes the sausage "blow up" or something, but next time I use the IP I'm going to cook the beans and then add the sausage and simmer for another 30 minutes or so without pressure. Since the sausage is pre-cooked all it needs is to be heated through.
The best recipe for cooking Beans is A Croc-Pot. Someone mentioned a pressure cooker but the last pressure cooker I saw in our home was the early 60s
