I haven't noticed any major impact on my finances at this point that have affected the way I live. That could change of course.
Just waiting for our Stimulus money to arrive in our banking account. Hope there will be another one after that.
My investment account lost about half it's value but I'm sure it will recover. I bought more stock while the orice was low. I would buy even more but running out of money
My wife and I are retired from the educational system (me state, she local) and so have pensions. As long as they don't mess with that, I guess we'll be o.k. But in times like these, who knows? At least we have our house paid for.
I'm getting more tree work than normal. Since more people are at home, now, during the week, they are looking at their trees, and calling me. Getting around Austin, known to normally have the 14th worst traffic in the world, is now a snap. It's like it was in 1978, when I first got here, from Chicago. Amazing!
If Nancy Pelosi has her way, none of the seniors will ever see any of the stimulus money. Here is a screenshot from what she said today. It appears that she totally HATES seniors !
It didn’t say that it is a satire website, and some of the other news on there, I have also seen elsewhere. Here is the link, so you can check it out , @Ken Anderson , and see if it is satire or just fake news. https://www.theconservativenews.space/
I'm not familiar with the site, nor can I find anything about it, but I am thinking that if Pelosi actually said this, it would be showing up in other places too.
Assuming that she said it, I'd like to know where she gets off talking about living on the government teat!
To the original question... No impact that I'm aware of so far. By the way, I just heard Suze Ormann on TV answer a question about the housing market. She said right now is an OK time to sell your house, but not a good time to buy one. I would think just the opposite. She wasn't allowed time to explain. Any thoughts?
My niece in the Airforce just sold her home in Texas before she was stationed in Georgia. She was very excited to have sold so quickly. Now she is looking to buy a home in Georgia and mentioned that the finance rates were very unstable. Just the other day she got locked in at a good rate when she was notified by her realtor that 'now is a good time to buy.'
I think she's right. Sell if you find a buyer because it takes two to tango. Sellers need to find someone who's willing to buy now when prices are high. Due to and after the crisis prices will go down. Buyers will be thinking twice about buying a house in times of recession. So sell now if someone wants to buy now.
"It takes two to tango." Perfect. In a financial crisis it seems like the rich always end up getting richer and the poor get poorer. Got to take that into account.
