@Beth Gallagher We neither fill out any forms, nor do we file any returns. Sure is nice, after all those years of scurrying at the last minute! Having "retired" several times, the last tax year we filed was the year in Missouri when I taught high school, 2002. Since then, we ain't got no tax obligation! Yay! Frank
Yes, filed it in May and got it in July. Got a refund of $180. My/our pensions are so small that we don't pay any taxes this year. The downside is that the costly refurbishment of our bathrooms is not tax-deductable.
@Von Jones Ha, Ha!! It's not where you are, but what you are.....Von! No income = no income tax. No, it's not all stashed overseas, either! Fact is, right now I am being dunned by the dialysis people for my co-pays for each treatment, $45 each time, 3 X a week, = 1/2 of our combined social security benefits. I haven't mentioned this before because I'd rather not be perceived a "whiner". Frank
@Beth Gallagher We never get refunds either, but it's understandable since we pay no taxes into the govt stir-pot. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is after a lifetime of quibbling over the wastefulness of govt, to not be contributing to their continuing............... Frank
