Apparently Barack and Michelle Obama have put out a movie now outlining their plan for the world. It is called Leave the World Behind and star Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke, so it is a fairly high budget production. I have not seen it, but it is the talk of the prepper sites. Has anyone here seen it? If so, what did you think?
I have not seen it, and probably won’t, but it is definitely being discussed on Twitter. It is on Netflix, I believe, and from what people have been saying about it, it is one of those “hate white people’ kind of movies. One scene in the trailer is about Tesla cars crashing, and ALL of the cars are white ones ! The people in the dark car have to swerve all over the highway to avoid being hit by the white cars, seems symbolic to me. Here is a screenshot from Twitter.
From an American Thinker article: A clip has emerged in which a black woman says to another black character, “I’m asking for you to remember that if the world falls apart, trust should not be doled out easily to anyone, especially to white people – even mom would agree with me on that.” Barack had a strong hand in technical advising on the movie whose plot is about a cyberattack that shuts down all the power & cripples the United States.
And we are apparently in a strong cyber attack from China, and maybe Iran right now, according to internet information. Several water systems are shut down from cyber attacks coming from Iran, and some hospitals were also attacked. I remember that sometimes these attacks ended up with the forum being off-line, not because we were specifically attacked, but because large servers were being shut down by the attack, so we were affected by that.
Not only do they make money from the movie being produced through their company, but the script writer (Esmail) consulted Obama, hoping that his perspective would “ground” the story and make it more realistic. According to Esmail, Obama thought the script was fairly close to how a crisis would actually pan out in the real world. I guess if there's a sequel on how to actually build something, Esmail would have to look for perspective elsewhere.
I watched the movie a couple of days ago. I thought it was okay, but I found ALL the characters annoying, except for Kevin Bacon's, who acted about what I'd expect from the role. As for the Teslas all being white? All I can say is that I know three people who have Teslas, and all three cars are white, including the one belonging to the Black guy who lives two houses down. Read into that what you will.
Mahershala Ali is in it, so I probably will. Not a Julia Roberts fan but I love this guy. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I'm sure all the power grids are equally targeted. (And FWIW, I meant that the movie is something I'll avoid so not sure we are on the same page.)
Maybe. I just read that China had its eyes on Texas, perhaps to shut down the ports, refineries and chemical plants. Maybe it is less secure. I don't know the reason.
I walked through the den earlier and my husband was watching the movie. I said, "are you enjoying the Obama movie?" and he looked puzzled. A light bulb came on and he said "why didn't you tell me earlier??" I'll get his review later, lol.
