As a History Buff I really enjoyed watching this marathon piece on British History. I was able to relate so many of the events to time periods in my life. Critics have given it good reviews for it's historical accuracy. There are three separate parts to the CROWN with each part having 10 episodes.
I've only seen the first two seasons. I do plan to watch the third after I use Netflix again. I rotate my streaming channels so I don't end up paying for more than I have time to watch. Right now I'm keeping busy with the PBS Masterpiece Theatre channel. I really enjoy period dramas.
Have not seen it but I'm not much into history. Have heard from others it was good and worth watching.
I'm very interested in British History and that's the reason I don't watch the Crown, it's so wrong in many aspects.. as was Downton Abbey and the like...
Not knowing that much about British history, I've enjoyed both series, but I did get a little impatient with The Crown in the later episodes of Season 3, with all the emphasis on Princess Margaret. I don't find her all that interesting or attractive to follow. The way she is portrayed, she is drunk, whining all the time, and smoking like a chimney. I wish it would go back to focusing on the Queen. Maybe they exaggerated Margaret's shortcomings to provide contrast with her sister?
I agree; I didn't care for all the focus on Margaret and found her very unlikable. Plus I really don't like the "new" cast; I'd have preferred for the originals to have been aged with makeup or something.
With the death of Queen Elizabeth, I decided to revisit The Crown. I'm enjoying watching the series again. Season 5 is to be released in November so I'll be ready.
we watched all when we had Netflix, but Netflix never works right when we have that. Ditched it. Of course The Crown is like many programs way off base in regards to real life, but it is worth the watch as long as you treat as just a program.
