Last Saturday Sam's Club held a health screening for anyone caring to attend, totally free. A special pipette device I had never seen before was used to draw about 5 or 6 drops of blood, which was placed into a tiny tube which was inserted into a hand-held device. The device read-out serum Glucose, and Combined serum Cholesterol. Several ladies doing the work conferred when my blood sugar was being indicated at 75, way lower than the 115 last doctor visit. They concluded some mumbo-jumbo caused it, which I could not understand. However, Cholesterol was 199, and Body Mass Index which another device calculated was 23.8, both numbers pleasantly surprised me, especially in view of my not having "fasted".

What do y'all think of this? Accurate, or a "guesstimate"?

    Here's a bit about BMI:
"The body mass index (BMI) or Quetelet index is a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of an individual. The BMI is defined as the body mass divided by the squareof the body height, and is universally expressed in units of kg/m2, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in metres.

Commonly accepted BMI ranges are underweight: under 18.5, normal weight: 18.5 to 25, overweight: 25 to 30, obese: over 30."
