I am a (very) amateur history buff. I enjoyed this article. From Smithsonian Magazine. It has the menu of Abraham Lincoln's Second Inagural https://www.smithsonianmag.com/hist...ers, roast beef, veal,,the table was a wreck…
Interesting stuff. My knowledge of history is very shallow, and has been difficult to remediate. It just doesn't seem to stick. I find it interesting that the article says the attendees to that dinner were ill-mannered pigs, but it seems it was open to the public (with an admission fee.)
Happy Almost Fourth of July !!! Biography of Lincoln, by his law partner. In recent years, this book has become significantly valued by Lincoln scholars: The Project Gutenberg EBook of Abraham Lincoln, Volume 1 (of 2), by William H. Herndon and Jesse W.
