Does some of your home décor match the area/state you live in?

Let's put it this way, when we lived in So Calif., a part of our apt. living room look more like we lived in Colorado, Wyoming or Montana. Had one of my rodeo Team Roping ropes and our cowboy hats hanging from a coat/hat rack. Two sets of Western riding spurs (hers and mine) hanging from nails on the wall and pictures of rodeo's we'd been to in the area. Have to admit, it looked rather odd for a So Calif. apt. in Orange County.

Now, when we bought our house in Colorado (28 miles south of Denver), there was a fireplace mantel in the living room that we put two ceramic "working" ranch cowboys on. One of my ropes was hanging above those ceramic cowboys. To each side of my rope was pictures of rodeo champions and pictures of Western TV Stars that I put together. So, basically, the entire living room was decorated with Western stuff. By the front door, had our glass gun case, with rifles in it. Yes, we decorated like we lived in Colorado.

Moved to northeastern Florida and some of the Western stuff went "bye, bye". Took the ceramic cowboys to the Good Will and got rid of the spurs. My one rope is now in the closet. Heck, I even gave a local Western store a few nice Western shirts I had in Colorado. Have one wall, next to the living room, covered with the same rodeo and Western TV Stars that we had in Colorado. Décor for our living room now is: ceramic lighthouses, carved wooden Pelican-Sandpiper and Seagull, pictures of professional drawn pictures of docks/boats and seashells. Yes, redone the décor to match living in Florida.

Before moving back to Colorado, most, if not all, of the Florida décor will go "bye-bye" and will get more Western décor.

So, does some of your home décor match where you live?

Mine is neutral and would work in most states.

In Wyoming or Montana? Those are definitely "cowboy/ranching" type States. Unless your decor really reflects the Western lifestyle, it could appear odd. Just saying.

    image.jpg Then I guess I won't be moving there. :)

I have no reason to move there but if I did, since I have a brown leather couch Id find a few western accessories and call it a day.

This is something I could live with....

Well, I really have no idea where we thought we could make living here work or retire here. We love Western style stuff, including clothing.
Our apartment has Florida stuff in it, but we found out that our hearts just aren't into Florida.
