Canadian folk musician Jesse Ferguson, sings Home On The Range. He dances around, through the lyrics in the link below. Enjoy! Lyrics
It might surprise you but Home On The Range was a staple in classrooms during my grade school days. We would be singing that song with gusto usually after lunch in order to wake up the dull atmosphere. And it's funny because we didn't even know what kind of an animal is the antelope. But in fairness to that song, that's where we learned that the plural of deer is also deer and not deers.
Home On The Range, is the State Song of Kansas! Home On The Range was composed by Brewster Higley and Dan Kelly in 1873 and recorded by Sinatra on10th March 1946 with Axel Stordahl and orchestra.
That Canadian folksinger has an awesome voice, @Joe Riley , and he does do a superb job on one of the great old-time songs. Since my first memories are of listening to Gene Autry sing this song, nothing can ever really compare to that first memory; but this is a great version, too, and more verses here, that I had never heard before. And @Corie Henson , if you watch this video real closely, you wwill see a small herd of antelope out on the prairie, just like the song says they are.
Recorded at the Aberdeen Steakhouse, Atwood, Kansas on New Years Eve 2008=09. Marshal Allen Bailey: Guitar, Brandon McLemore:Guitar, Blake McLemore: Bass.
Home On The Range RARE EARLY VERSION ; IT'S DIFFERENT 1932 "You should Google this song, because it has a slightly complicated history. This piano roll is from 1932, and credited to Robison, who might be Willard Robison or a relative. In any case, this was the original version of one of the most famous tunes ever. It was later recorded by Bing Crosby and Gene Autry, and the versions they sing are so familiar, that if anybody played this original version, a lot of well-meaning people will try to correct the "mistakes".
