Can anyone name a Hot-Button topic that can be discussed intelligently without any political or religious influence?

I pose this question because of other forums that prohibit any talk about politics or religion, yet they have a Hot Button topic section that is nothing but topics that have strong political influence or overtones of political agendas. They cannot be discussed intelligently without politics being mentioned as a factor.

Another example would be any discussion about any politician. It is possible to discuss Biden's mental state without politics entering the conservation? Perhaps if we were all neurologists and had all his test results, we could, but otherwise, it is just what we have heard, read, or seen on video or TV and politics is a ruling factor.

When I posed this question on those forums. I was met with responses that I could liken to a bullhorn blast in my ears or bear spray in my face. I was treated like I was ignorant for posing such a question. My take on these Hot Button Topics is that they are only considered political if one comes from a conservative viewpoint.

To explain further, if one posts about climate change and they claim to have the science, then that isn't political, but if one points out that in fact, they don't have the science and are just parroting what the politicians tell them is science, then their posts become political and in violation of the rules.

So, my question here is can anyone name one topic considered Hot Button that can be discussed intelligently that doesn't have political or religious overtones? I know this doesn't apply here, but I am still wondering if such a Hot Button topic exists?

I was going to say feminism, but I'm sure politics would worm itself into that discussion. Of course most laws have radically changed since the 70's or so but still a long way to go.

I guess I should ask, what constitutes a hot button topic? Is it something in your current news feed that the media declares a worthy topic or anything that generates a heated discussion?

I don't have a current news feed. :D I just assumed it was a topic that is divisive and that people have strong opinions about. Kind of like "Watermelon... salt or no salt??"

Is that really a discussion in Texas? Here in the watermelon capital of the Northwest, no one has ever served watermelon without salt and lived to discuss it. I salt every time I take out a scoop. My fake niece would always say, "Mommy, Auntie Faye is hogging the salt." We generally have out several shakers around here to prevent domestic violence.

I thought the discussion was salt on melon, but sure let's go off-topic since you introduced a HOT addition to hot button melon. I sometimes use Pimenton on mine which is Spanish hot spicy paprika from Spain. I have been known in my younger days to inject a melon with Jose's distilled cactus juice but those days are long gone.
