Rather than post a lot of images the entire bunch can be seen at the proper beginning. I don't have the url at the moment but you can also lookup the historical images from Rice University and University of Houston libraries for images of old Houston. One image I do want to post along with this good freeway subject, is the first known photograph of downtown Houston 1886. Probably looking Northward on Main street. I have an early 1920's image at the exact same spot but at a very slight difference in angle, the old photo still has one of the large arched buildings fronts that is the same building of 1886 in the 1920's photo. I love those old photos. (not too many vintage cars in this one ) I remember the first moving pictures of San Francisco which amazed me. As far as more present day freeways. I am glad Governor Perry was blocked from putting in the beginning of the Mexico to Canada one.
