Has anyone watched this excellent British video series? I finally broke down and spent the forty dollars to buy it ( I'll have to eat grass until Christmas. ). It's consonant with several Roman writers recording the events of the period. In watching Derek Jakobi's crowning achievement you might just learn or relearn some real history. I did study some on the Roman leadership but not alot. I liked Cesar,Tacitus and Cicero but mostly about the Republic of Rome in where we got part of out laws and ideas.I Don't study much anymore. I often put up some of their writings like Drums Of War by Cesar and Traiter is the Plaque by Cicero. Its to hard to read now though.
I read the book I, Claudius many years ago, but I have not seen the film. I really liked Derek Jacobi in Brother Cadfael. A very distinguished actor.
I started watching it when it came out but missed some of the early episodes. I just got it in the mail and am watching it again. I'm enjoying it.
