Please don't let this make you cry. The first sad news is that the warranty on my car has expired (or is about to expire.) I know this is true because I got a call a couple of days ago about it. I should press 1 to renew it. OOOPS! I pressed delete instead! Now what will I do if I should get a flat tire or, heaven forbid, need my sparkplugs replaced. The second sad news is that someone has made a $399.99 purchase from Amazon using my Mastercard credit card. This is especially sad considering that I don't even have a Mastercard credit card. Whoever placed that order is going to be soooo sad when it isn't delivered. I wonder if I should use my real credit card to fulfill their order? I just hate making someone sad.
Wait till you get the call saying your internet is going to be disconnected …….When I get those calls I think we’ll that might as well disconnect it cause I’m about to be thrown in the CLINK …failing to pay my TAX bill … so what good is the internet at home if I’m in jail @Shirley Martin
I cannot count how many FINAL COURTESY calls I have received over the years where the caller says their patience is shot with my negligence and nonresponse to their generosity and how they have already alerted the local sheriff to arrest me on tax evasion where a Federal court already has papers processed to convict me of lewd and lascivious behavior and they also have videos of my husband doing the uglies with a porn star. They had me scared and ready to spill my credit card number and also send cash, check, and/or money orders until the part about having a husband clued me in on their scam.
The title of this thread scared me for a minute. (I was about to check the Roll Call thread.) Of course, it's in the "Make me Laugh" Section... duh.
I let my answering machine screen calls. Usually I hear my message and then 10 seconds of silence while their machine waits to hear a response, and when it hears none it hangs up. In other words, it's machines interacting. A genuine caller will identify themselves first and leave a message because they think you are not home. If I am home and I know who is calling I pick up.
You have every reason to be concerned. Message me with your credit card number and I will take care of it for a small fee.
Me, too. My machine says leave a message and I'll call you back. When they say who they are, I answer the call.
After mostly getting riddled of the unwanted robot-calls about my vehicle’s extended warranty, today I got a little envelope in the mail, marked IMPORTANT, in big letters. Guess what it said ……. My HOUSE warranty is expiring and I have not contacted them ! Since I do not own a house of any kind, at least not since years ago when I owned my little trailer house in Idaho, this seems to fit right in with the vehicle warranty calls. Thankfully, they said it was my last warning notice , so I should not hear from them again (laughs as I write).
They have given up calling me …however I’ve been getting several texts a day saying I have a parcel and to click on the link to provide my details so I can pay outstanding charges so they can deliver it ……..yeah sure .. This morning I got a text saying I have a personal audio message ….(not in my message bank) I’ve gotta clink link in text to play it ..,Sure thing …do these scammers ever take a break
