We will, once we get our statement in from both SS and Florida UI (Unemployment Insurance). Since my wife is a degreed accountant, she does them. Couple of times, she was wrong and we got a bigger refund that we thought.
She uses another type of online filing. The great part of her mistakes............we got a bigger refund! That's a heck of a lot better than getting a letter from the IRS stating "you owe more tax than your filing stated". Nope, that sure didn't happen.
I suppose if I were a "degreed accountant," I'd be embarrassed that a simple tax return had an error whether it was in my favor or not. We also use TurboTax and are waiting on statements from our financial advisor before we file.
First, Beth, we don't have, and can't afford, a financial advisor. Not all Seniors have yours, or Lon's, monthly income. Second, she was somewhat embarrassed, but I told her "don't be, we all make mistakes". And, yes, that includes you, Beth, and others on this forum.
I'll probably take a look at them in March. I never get a refund so I don't file until the last minute.
Sorry Lon, if you don't remember, you posted how much your Assisted Living costs per month. With that, anyone could tell that you are making an "above average" retirement income. Right? IOW, I don't know your exact monthly income, nor do I know Beth and her husband, but it's definitely much more than ours. And, from the pictures of your meals, the place isn't cheap by any means.
I'm not arguing with you; I'm responding to Lon's thread. I'll just say this about my monthly income; first, it's none of your business. Second, I worked hard for what I have and never whined about working; I got out there and worked whether I wanted to or not. Now I am reaping the benefit from it. So boo-hoo to you. Now back to Lon's topic of filing taxes...
Now, now, Beth. You are the one that revealed/told that you have a Financial Advisor. Don't you know, once you say something in a reply, that reply is read by anyone in the forum. As far as "none of your business", you said "Financial Advisor", I simply took that a step further. IOW, a Financial Advisor isn't cheap to obtain.
I don't have to know, or want to know, a person/persons monthly income, unless they reveal something that would certainly indicate they are making a nice retirement income. Guess people should understand what they are posting and/or remember what they have posted in the past, before doing a post and then criticizing someone for bring that post up.
You are wrong as usual Cody. I did post what my Asssisted Living costs each month. I posted nothing about my monthly income. I also posted that I had insurance paying some of my monthly costs but did not say how much.
