This really is a shame, and of course, alcohol was involved.

On a more pleasant note, the best ice cream I've ever had was in Calais, Maine, many moons ago. It was french vanilla, and looked like a bowl of butter. I don't remember the name of the restaurant. I was a teenager or younger, and on a trip with my family, and we all swooned over the ice cream.

An ice cream I have made in the past and is very good although a little rich is to take a liter bottle of soda, any flavor you like and a can of condensed milk mix and freeze. Very good.

Oooh, that does sound delicious @Pat Baker, and rich! That's something I might have to try, since it sounds so easy. I've made regular ice cream in the past, but need to replace the container I always kept it in, which got ruined. There are ways to make it easily in a pan or other container, using fresh fruit and junket mix, too, which is fairly easy.
